Childhood Dreams

Be careful what you put upon your children’s nursery walls,
For, often, in the wee small hours, it can scare the child, who bawls,
Frightened by the towering forms of powerful, dangerous beasts
Who stalk the dreams of sleeping children, looking for midnight feasts.

Likewise, when you read stories, before you tuck them in.
To make them too adventurous should be a mortal sin.
If you want them to slumber, peacefully, it would be wise
To send them off with tranquil tales. That’s what I would advise.

For their imagination does not need to be inflamed
By dragons and other monsters and the maidens they have claimed.
Do not give them ammunition for their nightmarish dreams.
Instead, be sure to calm them down with rainbows and sunbeams.

Song of Spring

Exotic finery draws the eye
To the painted lady butterfly.
The grandeur of her fluttering wings
Rivalling the blooms of Spring.
Yellow Laburnum drapes and sways
Where this grand lady flits and plays.
Aromas of rowan and lilac mingle
Filling nostrils with a soft sweet tingle.
Hot sun caresses langourious skin
As I lounge on the lawn and drink it in.
The daisy-sprinkled lush green skims
And tickles the backs of my outstretched limbs.
Lazy days of summer lie ahead
To keep the mind and spirit fed.

First post

This world of blogs is very strange.
I had to try it out.
But, I really have not got the time
To sit and mess about.

So I will just say how dya do
Before I have to go.
I will come again when I have time,
Maybe, in a day or so!
